2020 Covid 19 Battle...

Family and friends, Tiffany Kiley (https://www.facebook.com/tiffany.kiley.1?__cft__[0]=AZUSZDSyzeUnubr7EMQvgwzEjNNd7G9-wBu-u7w1_BtdpWRIeERXk3YeZAOzWU-nfHo6Dl_QxKLx7bXeXE8ffFqMCfy0cUoz_oN_7wsdkJk3F13ZPVF8LIaqwY3SVfN5gOY&__tn__=-]K-R) needs your prayers. Tiffany was diagnosed with Covid 19 on Friday. She's currently in the Covid ICU at UNMC. I'm beyond devastated and don't know how I'm going to continue without her. She's our rock. She's been through hell. She's battled breast cancer, double mastectomy, and breast reconstruction surgery. At about (6) years her implant ruptured and she had breast reconstruction surgery AGAIN. About (2) months ago so was diagnosed with pulmonary sarcoidosis. Now this !! This lovely lady has been fighting for the last (7) years to stay alive. I'm not asking for pity. I just need your prayers. Please pray for Tiff. I thank you and our kids thank you.

A routine mammogram in October 2013 showed that Tiffany had a spot that needed more images.  Subsequent images warranted a biopsy.  The biopsy revealed that Tiffany had stage 3A breast cancer.  On December 13 she underwent a bilateral mastectomy and began reconstruction.  Three weeks later they discovered that the incisions were not healing & Tiffany underwent another surgery, delaying the start of her chemotherapy.

Tiffany began chemotherapy on February 5th, 2014  This site is made for those of you wishing to follow her journey through cancer & beyond.

Newest Update

Journal entry by Tiffany kiley

Well just a quick update - I am at home and it is a huge improvement to the lonely cold hospital room.  I am surrounded by my loving family that are essentially all my nurse maids.  They help me do the things I can't do yet. They are making sure I eat,  get enough sleep and get everything else I need.  I would be lost without them.  I personally want to thank everyone that has stepped up to help feed my family during this time.  It is such a big job just keeping up with the house,  laundry and kids that also having to worry about making a bunch of dinners would just be a lot to deal with. So, for Mark not to have to worry about that is huge.  I am on oxygen at home and they said that will last at least 2 months.  They aren't sure how much damage the Covid did to my lungs so they are going to do another scan in 3 months to see the effects on my lungs.  There is so much they don't know about this virus yet.  I feel like a test subject in a class I didn't want to take.  I am thankful for the doctors and nurses at UNMC for taking care of me and not putting me on a ventilator.  When I got to the ICU I was begging for the vent to help me breath but ultimately that would have gone down a very different road for me and I'm glad they didn't do it.  It has been a long hard road for me.  I still have a lot of shortness of breath.  Getting up and down stairs are not easy but it's getting easier.  I'm working hard to wean myself off the oxygen.  It's crazy how easy you can lose your breath doing easy things like brushing your teeth though.  I have quite a bit of atrophy in my legs from being in the hospital bed for so long, so I've been really trying to get that muscle back.  Markie even brought my oxygen concentrator out back the other day and I was able to get into the shallow end of the pool and do leg exercises.  Plus, I was able to get sun therapy. Lol. All in all I'm doing better.  I'm working hard to get back to being able to be more productive.  I really want everyone to know we feel so loved by everyone in our lives and nothing has gone unnoticed.  Thank you all we love you!
