MyStory

Here we will share updates on the recovery and healing of the Johnson family, who were the victims of a terrible wreck on July 1, 2011. Please check here for updates before calling the family, as they are focusing all of their attention on getting better and stronger every day.

IMPORTANT!!!
The 'Donate Now' link on the right of this page supports the important mission of the CaringBridge.org website, but does not support the family directly. To make donations to the family, please click here.

On July 1, 2011, on the first day of a family vacation in the mountains of northern Georgia, the Johnson family van was struck from behind by a speeding truck while returning from a fireworks show.  While Susie and David, riding in the front seat, only suffered minor injuries, Brooke, Kathryn, and Owen were all badly hurt.  Hannah's injuries were too severe, and she did not survive the crash.

As of this writing, the surviving children are still in the hospital in Tennessee, 800 miles from their home in Florida, recovering from their injuries.  Owen, 3, has a cervical spine injury and a broken leg. Kathryn, 8, has two badly broken legs, a fractured pelvis, and a broken right wrist.  Brooke, 10, has a badly broken leg and right arm.

Through CaringBridge, we'll offer updates on everyone's healing and progress.  Thank you very much for your thoughts, prayers, and love.
