  • Keep on swimming...

    Written May 24, 2013 4:55pm

The girls are doing great. They are getting so big and catching up so quickly.

Allison: Well Allison is proving herself over and over again to be so strong. She is so close to walking. She can walk holding your hand or holding onto furniture. She is climbing also. She climbs on Owen's picnic table and gets on the couch. She is eating solids. She is doing great with eating and hopefully no tube soon.

Amelia: Amelia is catching up so nicely. She is crawling all over and she can pull to standing. She is working on being able to sit on her own once she gets into standing position. She is loving tasting food. She is doing well also in that department. We will hopefully be going to a feeding clinic in Philadelphia this summer. We will have to relocate there but hopefully when we come back no more tubes.

Owen: My buddy is doing great and becoming a little old man. He is a wonderful big brother.

Greg: Greg just finished his first semester at college. He did excellent and finished with a 4.0. He loves school and will start again in August.

Well that is our little update! Hope all is well with everyone reading our blog. Thank you for all the kind words, messages, and support throughout this. We love it and appreciate it all the time! Thank you!

  • Summer time

    Written April 24, 2013 9:06am

Summer is approaching fast. The girls are continuing to become active. Both girls are crawling and in full swing of house destroying. They have their own language and follow each other around. Its so cute and just how I pictured twins.

The girls will be going through a GI study soon. This will help us with their feeding issues. We will then start a feeding program. We are hoping we can do it through St. Joseph's Children Hospital and do it online.

The girls are doing great though. It is so nice because we still have many firsts to share with them this summer. The first one was their first time touching grass. It was entertaining to say the least. Owen likes them better that now they are both crawling.
  • 13 months old!

    Written April 7, 2013 7:45pm

Oh what fun 13 month olds can be! And to have double is even more fun! We love love love being home and being a family of five. It still feels surreal some days.

The girls are doing wonderful. They have different accomplishments and they go their own pace with milestones, but both of them are doing great. We no longer have a night nurse or machines in their room.

Allison: Allison is a speed crawler. She is so fast going wherever she wants to go. She also is pulling herself to standing. Before we know it, she'll be walking. She is so funny. She is eating solid foods. Believe it or not her first food she enjoyed was a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. She does great eating solid foods. She is starting to learn to use a bottle. Once I can get her to bottle and she shows she can gain weight, her tube will come out. She is eating on a normal schedule and sleeps all night. She is free to be a normal baby. She also can repeat words.

Amelia: Amelia is starting to crawl. She figured out how to go from sitting to belly and back. She will army crawl forward but working on getting on her hands and knees. She claps and babbles so much. She flirts with everyone and she is so sweet. She will drink a little but has a harder time with food. We will work on that. She is also standing and putting weight on her feet. This is huge. She has had a more difficult recovery and so her progress is slower, but it is there and that is all that matters.

The girls go once a week to Syracuse for feeding clinic. They also have a follow up in Philadelphia April 16th that we will have to make a trip there. Other than that they are doing fantastic at being home.

Owen loves his sisters home. Whenever I take one with me to pick him up from school, he gets so excited to show everyone that is his baby sister. Whenever I put a skirt on them, he calls them a baby princess. Its adorable. He just started a preschool class and will be going there full time. Its good for him to have a routine and in a program while I am busy with the girls.

Greg is doing great in school. He is making great grades and enjoying his time in college.

For me, I am just looking for a job. That's about it.

Thank you for all the support and all the positive thoughts and prayers.
