From a Daddy with a fractured heart,
To the thousands who touched our daughter's life and were touched by our "Tigger" (Tammy Jo Moyer Laws).
I am so blessed and yet so empty at this time in my life. The English words "thank you" are not big enough, meaningful enough, or even expressful enough to convey my gratitude for so many who gracefully crossed our path on this 4 1/2 year journey through Inflammatory Breast Cancer.
My faithful God doesn't make us, but allows us, to take certain journies in life that we may not like or even understand. But throughout this journey many precious people, wonderful places, and exciting things were interwoven in our lives. How does one place a value on that? Just for a moment, stop to think of all the new friends we made, the education we received. All those genuine smiles that greeted us each time we entered the James Graham Brown Cancer Center, or the Mint Jubilee, or Dr. C. Salvador and staff's office, or Dr. Silverman and staff's office, or the U of L doctors and nurses, or nurses at Owensboro Cancer Center, or Dr. Decker and staff's office, or Dr. Bradley and staff's office. The list goes on and on.
I praise my God for having access to such quality of care for our Tigger. Each of you have been a true blessing in our life. We are finding out daily that our "Tigger" Tammy had this huge network of friends, all around the world that helped her and also those she helped in the fight against cancer. Whoever you are, where ever you are, this Daddy thanks you from the bottom of his heart.
It took about two hours to go from Tigger's house in Owensboro, KY to treatment in Louisville, KY - often more than once a week. I never dreamed this daddy would ever talk with his daughter about some of the subjects we shared. But then, I'm from the old school; Tigger wasn't. I will always cherish those moments. Why did I share this with you? Dads, moms, daughters, sisters, brothers, papas, mamas, nieces, nephews, friends... take advantage of each moment life gives you before it disappears.
Our entire family was constantly met with open arms of compassion throughout this journey. We are sincerely grateful. Should you feel led to email (rrmoyer@sbcglobal.net) or write, please do.
With love and respect,
Richard (Tigger's Daddy) Moyer
