Latest Journal Update
It’s been a year since Tamar died. “Sadtimes”, as she would say. We would love your company. Please come by our home for some laughter and tears, celebrate Tamar’s life, share memories. We’d love to see friends, and friends of Tamar, in the afternoons and evenings (approximately 4-9pm) of January 2-7. We look forward to having you with us in these coming days. Please bring single flower, or ribbon (1-2 ft long), or photo, a “classic Tamar” story, an item, a g-chat snippet, or any tangible or intangible thing you can share. And mostly please bring yourself.
Danny, Maya, Liat, and Netta (and Mindo)
A few loosely planned things, in memory of Tamar :
RIBBONS FOR TAMAR -
We invite you to cut ribbons when you are with us. We have cloth remnants that speak of Tamar. On Saturday January 4th at about 4pm, if you can, please meet us at Tamar’s bench (Macalester college, NE corner of tennis courts). We will tie ribbons for Tamar to add colors and liveliness to the bench dedicated to Tamar. If you are far away, do tie ribbons for Tamar wherever you are.
A TREE GROWS IN BROOKLYN - Readings
It’s a book Tamar read many times over, often carrying it with her on travels. Something in it resonated. We will read from A Tree Grows in Brooklyn. We’ll just see how it goes, and how far we get. Approximate reading times: 4-4:15pm and 8:45-9pm. Come listen, be with us.
Yes, nail polish and nail painting - Tamar enjoyed it, painted her nails casually and often, subscribed to Nail Polish of the Month ‘club’, started toying with the idea of making nail polish herself. We have a collection of nail polish colors, remover, and cotton. We invite you to paint at least one fingernail in memory of Tamar. Bright colors are good, mix it up if you like. If you are far away, post/send us a picture.
VOLUNTEER AT MANO-A-MANO
After the car crash Tamar was taken to a clinic in Potosi, Bolivia. She died in a small hospital in Oruro, Bolivia.

The task: Sorting unused medical supplies, preparing shipments to Bolivia.
Location: Mano-a-Mano, 925 Pierce Butler Route, St. Paul, MN 55104
If you can volunteer email Maya at email@example.com
Weather permitting, On Monday or Tuesday (Jan.6 or 7) we will send up illuminated paper balloons (Sky lanterns) with messages, thoughts, kisses, cat faces, etc, for Tamar. Probable location: Como Park (to be confirmed). Time: after sunset.
If it’s too windy/cold/snowy/difficult we’ll postpone this plan to June 25th 2014, Tamar’s 22nd birthday.
