It’s hard to believe that it’s been over six weeks since I last posted on the website. I frequently look come on here, but have had a severe case of writers block lately.
However, I wanted to provide everyone with an update. I had a PET scan a few weeks ago and had a follow up appointment with my Oncologist last Friday. Great news…I’m still in remission and the scan is crystal clear. It was such a relief to hear the news.
I’m now 3 months into remission, which is such a great feeling. I’ve felt amazingly well and things seem almost back to normal.
I’ve even given up on walking and now am strictly running. I’m averaging 3-5 miles three or four times a week and today finally broke the 200-mile mark since I started keeping track. It is such a great feeling to be able to go out and do something as simple as running. I’ve really learned to appreciate the smaller things in life. It's somewhat depressing that the leaves have started to change and soon my running route will be covered in snow and ice. Thank goodness for treadmills!
Work is going very well and I’m so happy to be back.
Otherwise I have nothing new to report. I’m not sure how often I’ll post on here anymore as I feel as if this “chapter” in my life is ready to be closed.
Words can't express what an incredible tool this website has been to me. It provided an avenue to keep in touch with friends and even get back in touch with people I haven’t talked with in a long time.
For those of you that don’t have my email address it is svenfinucan@comcast.net. Please keep in touch.
Thanks again for all of your thoughts, prayers, and supportive caring inspirational words. It meant a lot to me as I went through a very challenging time in my life. Each of you played an integral part in me beating cancer and I'm very thankful to all of you.
