Thursday update........ I've said it before and I'll say it again. Sometimes Angels cross your path, it might be someone you see at the ballfield, it might be someone in the isle at Wal-Mart strolling along in their wheelchair. Maybe it's a kind word, a smile, a gentle laugh, a card sent in the mail. We come into contact with Angels every day, but sometimes we don't see them. Well we have had a few Angels put in our path the last few days. We have had several people searching with us for a new pup. I said the other day we are not trying to replace Hershey, she can't be replaced. We do have this huge void in our hearts and that is why we have to find a new puppy-to love. One to love, to bond with, go swimming with the kids, go camping with us. be my kids best friend, be there to lick away their tears, play ball, fetch, run and play and wear my kids out! Watch a movie, take a nap, wear that Alabama shirt Summer and Taylor thinks it should wear. That is what I want for my kids.
With that said, there is a light. A "kind stranger" as Summer and Taylor would say-I say an Angel, e-mailed me yesterday. She only knows us through this site. She knew someone with puppies. With her help I was put in touch with more Angels. This was the lead I was talking about last night. I never knew it would turn out this way. I am amazed and in awe to say the least. I'm not going to throw out any names, yet. I know they are not in this for recognition. I will just say they are super wonderful and they have made my children and us very excited. If you can't tell by now, we found a new puppy! She will be ready in 3 weeks. She lives inside with a great family and is around young children. She has great dog parents and great people parents. We are thinking of names, I'm sure Gracie will call her Hershey and that's okay. She is just not sure what happened. We have a new list of names and are still thinking. We hope to go visit her soon and meet this incredible family. I would love to meet our "kind stranger" too. I have more to say so for now this is to be continued..............
If you haven't read the entry from last night, please do so. It has all our prayer requests on it and there is a new one, Scott Pittman. I have the link for all the info on him. Check out that entry if you haven't and if you have then please keep all our friends in your prayers.
Oh, I almost forgot to tell you about Summer's volleyball game. Her team won! That makes 3 wins! They have played all the teams now and the championship game(as Summer calls it) will be next Tuesday. I can't believe the season is almost over! It just started last week! What a piece of cake!
Okay, time to put all little children to bed. I'll tell more of the story later. Taylor and Summer are perking up and I hope Gracie will soon, she just isn't herself right now. If anyone has any names for a chocolate "girl" lab, shout them out!! I feel like a huge load has been lifted, maybe that tiny bit of my mind is just really gone for good and I can't think anymore. Why doesn't your brain refresh itself? Wouldn't that be nice? Mine is gone. I used to be smart before my kid got cancer.
Everyone remember about Kandles for Kids this Sunday at 6 pm at Liberty Parkway in B'ham. I have all the info on a previous entry.
September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Together we can find a CURE.
