Summer Miller's Journal
Written Jan 2, 2014 10:10pmYes, you heard me right... I am officially DONE WITH CANCER!!!
On December 26th, I had my last surgery which consisted of port-removal and final reconstruction. It was my Christmas gift to myself.
Before being sedated and taken back into surgery, I had the most precious prayer prayed over me by my Associate Pastor, Dr. Darrell Huneycutt. He thanked God this nightmare was almost over and also for my ministry through it. Hmmm... my ministry. Yes, now that I look back I can completely understand how maybe, just maybe, I was meant to go through all of this just so I can minister to others who are just beginning this journey. I can accept that. I know that when I was diagnosed all I wanted to do was talk to people who had "been there - done that". (Btw: thank you Laura, Stephanie, Sheila, Janice, Marlette, and so many others).
So, here's to the rest of my life (and ministry). I thank God for another day of life - and such a great life at that!
God is my healer,

Written Oct 12, 2013 5:11amThis past Tuesday I celebrated my 38th birthday. Nothing fancy - just coming home from work to a birthday cake from my hubby, a few gifts and cards from close friends and family, and becoming a human wrestling-mat for my babies. I wouldn't have had it any other way.
Thank you to everyone who went out of their way to wish me a very Happy Birthday. It was, in fact, wonderful!! Last year this time I was very sick from the chemotherapy. This year I praised my Jesus for every breath I easily took, each step I could actually walk, and each friend and family member that stuck by me on that journey. No, I'm still not completely out of the woods but the sun is already shinning so brightly from where I stand.
Now if we can just get this Government Shut-Down to end and I can put many of my workers back to work, I will feel like my torture is truly over.
God bless you all and God Bless America!
My Jesus is soooo good!
