Steven’s Story

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We've created it to keep you updated on Steven's condition and progress.  Visit often for updates, and please sign our guest book.

Praise God for the miracles we have already seen and the ones we know we will see.

The following is the entry my sister made for us on Steven's original blog page.  We understand that CaringBridge is an easier site to navigate through.  We will be making all updates to this new site from now on.  Thank you for your prayers.  Our plan is to add specific prayer requests as often as we have them.  Our request is that you will continue to pray with us for all the specifics that Steven needs.

On Tuesday, October 20, I received a call that none of us ever want to get. My sister informed me through tears that our nephew, Steven, had been in a serious auto accident and was on a respirator. Just the day before I remember commenting to my husband that I was so lucky in the nieces and nephews I have. I don't even remember now what prompted me to say that, but it is true that all 12 of my nieces and nephews are truly kind-hearted, beautiful persons. Steven is one of the most loving, sweet spirits I have ever had the privilege to know. He is always ready to give a big bear hug whenever we are able to get together. We are praying for a miraculous healing for him and we know that our God is big enough to do so.

If you are reading this please pray for Steven and his family. He has a precious 3 year old daughter and his sweet wife, April, is due to give birth to their little boy in a few weeks.

I will close with a scripture passage that I have been meditating on since I got the news:

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade—kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God's power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls.I Peter 1:3-9
