I know...I know  where are the updates!!! I'm awful but there is alot going on and kids have been keeping busy....so that means I get to tag along!! YEA ME!!! Eugene's baseball team the  Florida Marlins (how funny is that considering i was born there) is doing very well. I like to joke they look like"The Bad News Bears" when they are on the field but they do well. They start the playoffs this week so let's keep our fingers crossed. Hope is becoming quite the "girlie-girl". The little girl who used to sit in dirt and dig her way to China and make impressive attempts to throw dirt on Steven has been replaced with a little princess prima donna/diva. She wants lip gloss and her finger nails painted and pony tails and princess clothes, and don't let her get dirt or something "eewww" (as she likes to say) on her!!  :)
She will be starting pre-k this coming school year so it will be an interesting adjustment not having her with me ALL day. Well enough about that because if I think about I will cry. My last baby will be in public school. Ok moving on I'm a big girl !!!
Steven had 2 appointments last week one on Monday for ophthalmology at Hopkins and the 2nd for neuro-psychology at Kennedy Krieger so I ended up staying overnight in a very nice hotel. Steven and Hope enjoyed it and it was a nice change and it was nice driving only 15 min and resting and eating as compared to 1 hour and 15 min. Well Dr. Repka feels that Steven's eyesight can improve with glasses and he would like to do that first and then try correcting his alignment with surgery later. We will go back in 6 months. The doctor at Kennedy evaluated Steven and could see that Steven was trying very hard to be co-operative and give a answer to all her questions but she could clearly see that Steven was having processing problems and could not always give an answer that was correct or appropriate to the question. She could also clearly see that there was an attention issue, not only in behavior but in his thought process. She explained to me that Steven will have learning disabilities as he progresses through school and his mental processing is at a 4 year old level. She has diagnosed Steven with ADHD and feels that medication maybe very beneficial to him in school as well as behavior wise. It will help him give his brain to process and rationalize questions and comprehend situations. She feels that based on her attempting to get Steven to write that he may need a device that just lets him type so that he can complete things like a spelling test until he can master writing with a pencil or pen. Either that he would need someone to dictate to so that he can demonstrate reading comprehension. I'm just hopeful that now with a diagnosis of ADHD and medication Steven can get the services he needs to succeed and surpass everyone's expectations...he is quite a little man and is still my little man!!! :)  Love to all I will update photos soon!!!
