Thanks be to God! Had a GREAT session with the surgeon today. He said that everything appears to be going well and that the healing continues to progress.

So the good news is that I can:

--hold (but not pick up) grandchildren as long as they don't wiggle too much;
--attempt to lift up to twenty pounds (unless it hurts) and do various things within reason [pain defines reason];
--drive a car (as long as I don't overdo it);
--go to the wedding in Phoenix as long as I allow time for resting (the heat, etc.).

I will remain on disability for awhile (three more weeks) until the sternum is declared fully healed, then back to whatever activity my stamina can handle.

I continue with the work with the cardio-rehab team. On the days I don't go there I get out and walk. They have told me from the beginning that staying responsibly active will enhance the healing process.

I have been so blessed by those of you who have stopped by to walk with me....I think I will miss that when this is all over. I love the conversations that happen along the way.

So, we continue a day at a time, thanking God for every step of the journey. Our healing God is truly present and brings strength, hope and comfort in the midst of it all. God is so good!

Thank you all for continued prayers and support.

Blessings,

Steve
