Dear friends,
This has been an incredible year for our family. Stephen continues to do well and Michael says he feels 100% again. His gift has changed our lives.
One reality has not left us. Both of Stephen's brothers also have polycystic kidney disease (PKD) and both continue to lose kidney function. They, too, face dialysis or transplant in the future.
This is a disease that currently has no treatment and no cure. But, there are promising drug trials ongoing and the research community is talking about the possibility of a cure. I remain hopeful for a treatment in time to help both brothers and maybe a cure for our next generation.
I am participating in the Walk for PKD again this year and I am looking for sponsors. I am walking to celebrate life, in honor of Stephen’s donor Michael, and because it is something I can do to fight this disease.
I have set a challenging goal. Still, I feel confident that with a bit of help from a lot of friends I will reach my goal. Together we can make a difference. If you would like to participate and support me in this effort, the information about how to make a donation is below.
