I am now 5 days past surgery and things are going very well. My surgery went very well. After I got home on Thursday I told Ben and I don't think I even got nervous, just excited for what was ahead. The medical team did a great job and I managed to have a surgery without getting sick afterwards. What a wonderful thing, our prayers were answered again! I have been pretty tired and a little sore but that was to be expected. I had my post op appointment today and the plastic surgeon was happy with the progress and thought that things looked really good. I was able to get the drain out!!! I think we will be having a little celebration on Friday night!! We'd do it sooner but our schedule is booked!! I hope everyone had a great Mother's Day. As you know we decided to walk in the Race for a Cure at the Mall of America. Yes, I did do the 3.1 mile walk with my husband, kids, Mom, Mother-in-law, Sister-in-law, and some great friends. Our team ended up being about 14 and we had a great time. I think everyone was a little moved by the 58,000 people that walked for a cure. It was truely amazing to think that a majority of the people had some how been touched by Breast Cancer. When that many people gathered together for the cause you know something good will come out of it. We continue to pray that the funds raised will be used for research and a preventative cure. As I gain strength and energy daily I look back over the seven months and am so thankful for the support we have recieved. Each message, card, call, gift, meal and prayer helped us get where we are today. We feel strongly that I have been cured. Even though we never expected to be touched by breast cancer at 31 we have learned so much and have growen as people, parents, and friends and for that we are truely thankful. As we celebrate the success of my final surgery we want to THANK EVERYONE for your support! Have a great day! Stacey, Ben, Sydney and Easton
