Sophia Grace’s Story
Welcome to Sophia's website. We are trying to use this to communicate updates and changes to what's occurring with our little girl. Hopefully this will give everyone who loves her a chance to get up to date. Thanks to all of you for the endless support and love!
We noticed that Sophia's breathing was different on Sunday November 21st, and felt uneasy about having her on the island in case of an emergency. We got on the ferry to go home and thought we would stop by the Skagit ER on the way home, just for a piece of mind, both knowing that we wouldn't be able to sleep that night. From there it was determined that she was having trouble breathing due to an enlarged heart and they rushed her via ambulance to Seattle Childrens Hospital. She has been there ever since. Lot's of tests have been performed, she was in isolation for 3 days, and is gradually getting better. At this time the docs think that she may have a congenital heart condition, but they are still performing tests so we will know more as time progresses. It is possible she may grow out of the condition, need corrective surgery, or the remote possibility exists of the need for a heart transplant. We just don't know at this time.
We will update this site as often as possible to let everyone know what's going on with our little girl. Please keep her in your prayers!
