These are words of advice from Marcia Self, mother of fallen soldier Spc. Philip Cody Ford of Jones Creek, to Veronica Thomas, the mother of Pfc. Brad Thomas, an infantryman on his way for his first tour in the battlefields of Iraq.
Brad graduated in 2004 from Brazosport High with my son, Coby Bradley and he is also a dear friend.
I saw Brad right before he was to leave for Iraq. He and I prayed together in a grocery store parking lot. He shared with me with excitement how he knows God is watching over him because he was not afraid.
