Good evening everyone! I will finally update on Signe's make-a-wish trip. She enjoyed herself tremendously! The excitement of her first plane ride, staying in a hotel with a pool, receiving 3 limo rides, a ride in a convertable, visiting two new states, riding on a paddle boat on the Mississippi River, being interviewed by a national t.v. show, staying up "until the middle of the night" (as our plane did not arrive back to Fargo until 11:30 p.m.) and of course meeting Paula Deen! Paula was as friendly and approachable as she appears on t.v. Signe only talked to her a little bit when she presented Paula with an apron, it said "I met Signe from Minnesota", with a picture of Signe in a Paula Deen apron that says "Southern cook in training". We were escorted to Paula's restaurant in a limo and Paula was waiting for us at the enterance with her husband Michael. She led us to a private room in her restaurant where 4 other girls, all make-a wish, and their siblings, (we only took Elias,) decorated cookies with Paula. Then Paula took the 5 girls into her store at the restaurant,(With no parents), and each child was able to pick out 3 presents. The first thing Signe picked out (they told me) was...lip gloss! There were beautiful Paula Deen signature ceramic bowls and water pitchers, a variety of other really cool things and the eye of a 7 year old caught cupcake shaped lip gloss!! Oh well, she loves her lip gloss! (If I can find it after the move!!) she also picked out a t-shirt that says "Hey Y'All" and a couch blanket that says the same thing.

After we returned from our trip we closed on our new house on June 2nd and we painted a lot and moved in the next couple of days. We are finally relatively settled and now we are visiting Grammy for a couple of days. Signe is doing great and we are all enjoying life without chemo. I'ts amazing how fast your life can adjust to "normal" and I'm trying to treasure every moment of it.

Thank you for staying in touch and I will update again when time allows.

Laura, Brad, Signe, Elias, and Ruthie
