My Story

Sid Bacon used this website to post updates during his 18-month battle with pancreatic cancer. Sid's journal, and the countless words of encouragement in the guestbook, provided a tremendous amount of support and inspiration for Sid, his family and friends during his journey. We have created a new permanent site in memory of Sid with pictures, memories shared by friends and family, many of Sid’s CaringBridge posts, and more.  Please visit that site and add your stories. http://sid-bacon.last-memories.com/

Rock Chalk March Madness

Mar 21, 2014 9:16am

Sid and KU Snuggie This was certainly one of Sid's favorite times of year: wonderful weather, a beautiful spring desert, and plenty of March Madness.

Sid didn't make many requests in his final months, but he did demand that his children cheer on the Jayhawks in his absence.  He would have been disappointed by ASU's last second loss on Thursday night, but the endless optimist would have turned to KU for some March hope.

So put on your team colors, find your family and friends, and turn on the games.  Sid would prefer you wear red and blue, but he'll understand if your loyalties lie elsewhere.

ROCK CHALK JAYHAWKS, GO TEAM BACON!
