Shelby Suzanne Ullom's Journal
Written Apr 18, 2013 3:52pmShelby has managed to stay healthy and get back to normal. We are so excited as we are now 9 days away from leaving on our Make-A-Wish trip to Disney World! We will be gone for 7 days and as most have heard someone who wants to remain a mystery has donated their private jet for us to travel on! We are so relieved that we don't have to take Shelby and all of her equipment thru the airport! I ask that you all keep our sweet Shelby and our family in your prayers that we all stay healthy and have the time of our lives! God Bless and I will update after we get back!
Written Mar 23, 2013 9:37pmI write tonight in sheer exhaustion, Shelby has finally been cleared to go home tomorrow! We are so happy to be headed for home! I can honestly say I have not slept since we arrived here, as a mom you worry about everything! Not just Shelby but everyone this has impacted! Dan has taken so much time off work and his mom and dad have taken time out as well to help us with Annika! My mother even drove here last minute to help out because it was unknown when we would go home. I love you all so much and know through all this I had some peace of mind knowing Annika was ok and having so much fun! It's true what they say " it takes a village ". I can tell you this has been very scary for me and I had many melt downs while in here with my very sick baby! We can hopefully get Shelby back to her old self at home and keep moving forward! Thank you for all of your prayers through this I know Shelby thanks you too! God Bless
Written Mar 19, 2013 10:34amShelby has finally turned the corner!! She is getting better! We were pretty scared there for a little bit because as you all know Shelby is a fighter and when we saw her losing her fight we were frightened! Today we are going to try and get her back on her home vent and then back to her usual settings......I hope and pray that we can be home soon together as a family again and that Shelby will continue to rest and give her lungs and body a break to keep healing. It is so hard to see her so sick like this it just floods me with memories of all the times she has had to really fight to stay alive. Thank you for all of your support and prayers I know it all helps her!
