Monday, June 29th update
The lack of updates are simply a reflection of a wonderfully busy and fun-filled summer! We have enjoyed a beach trip with Grammie & Poppy, Uncle Tyler and Aunt Tracie, and Daddy....we were home for a week for VBS (which was TERRIFIC)...Sejal spent several days with her Nana and Papa....then we were off on a Girly Beach Trip with my best friend, Carol and Alyssa. The girls had the BEST time swimming, diving, burying each other in the sand, catching LOADS of sand crabs, putt-putt....it was a very special trip. It was also great to catch up with Carol. This has been the best of summers in so many ways. We are so blessed.
Sejal did have a quick visit to clinic on the very day we left for our girl's beach trip. Her throat began to hurt the night prior...she also ran a low-grade fever. Dr. Kathy looked at Sejal and discovered an enlarged lymph node under her neck. It gave me quite a scare. Blood work looked wonderful. She was given antibiotics and we were given the green light to go. Sejal will go back to clinic in a couple days for a follow-up. She finishes her antibiotics Wednesday.
Sejal has become quite a little fish this summer. I cannot believe what a superb swimmer she is! She has not only taken off all her floatie gear--but is now diving in waters at least 5ft. and even doing lots of tricks (as she likes to call them)! My ears are still ringing with her sweet singsong voice..."CANNONBALL!!!!" and "Look out BELOW!!!!" She is also doing lots of water gymnastics...beautiful handstands, double forward flips, and backflips, too. A pool here at home would be IDEAL...it's such great exercise for Sejal.
Next week we are headed to Pigeon Forge with Nana and Papa (and yes, there's a POOL). So...this week I am busy getting my classroom all ready. I have accepted the position of Curriculum Coach this year at our school for grades 3-5, in addition to teaching 3 language arts classes and a math class, too. I am excited and Sejal is eager to start first grade. She begins on July 14th (we are year-round). So...the time is ticking away!
How THANKFUL I am that Sejal is doing so very well. I ask that EACH OF YOU continue to PRAY for Sejal. For COMPLETE HEALING...for PEACE. I will not lie. Sometimes I get very scared. I have to continue to trust in God and give Sejal FULLY to Him.
Sejal is getting ready to lose her 4th tooth. She is also sporting 9 cute little corn-rows courtesy of a Jamaicaan lady at the beach. She seems to have grown-up so much over the last few weeks. Sejal continues to grow tall with the same baby-blue eyes that melt my heart.
We have spent lots of time loving on our animals this summer, too. Sophie and Jude are such a JOY. The three of us cannot imagine our lives without them. They are so loyal and always bring a smile to our faces. Also...the kitties! Izzy, our 'spayed' kitty surprised us with 4 kittens on April Fools (ironic, huh?)...we found a home for Knox and kept 3. Sejal named them: Miracle (girl), Joey, and Elvis. It has been a great experience raising the kittens from being so so tiny. They are now ready to be outside with the dogs....I am glad they have claws! It will be an interesting few days, I'm sure!
Very special thank-you's tonight::::
Thanks to ANGEL LAURIE and family for the SURPRISE Build-A-Bear giftcard! Sejal received it just days before we left for the beach. We took it with us and she made a Rainbow Bear that she named: Rainbow Sherbert! She also got the Ariel goggles this week. I know she'll put these to use!!!! thanks so much!!!
Jessica Sevin~~~ What a thoughtful gift!!! We ALL love Sejal's pillowcase...did you make it? It is BEAUTIFUL. Sejal always takes her pillow on trips and your pillowcase went, too. Thank you!!!
We have a special family at church that I would like to request prayer for...please pray for Brenda Tipton and family. Doctors have discovered Brenda has a brain tumor. We are praying for healing, strength, and for peace for this family.
Wishing each of you a wonderful summer filled with many smiles and hugs!!!
