Hello Family and Friends!
Thanks to everyone for your incredible generosity, support and PRAYERS!!  Sean and I are in Vancouver, BC having just completed the first week of treatment.  Sean receives treatment 3-4 days per week with weekends off.  I'll share a little bit of what the treatments are and how he is doing.  Sean is receiving a treatment called Hyperthermia (heating the body like a fever.  Fever therapy is.raising body temp above 38.5 degree C) and he does both  local and whole body treatments.  Local Hyperthermia is where they heat an area of the body to temps greater than 42.5 degree C(BTW...conversion for Celsius to F = "C X 1.8 plus 32") for an hour and they've been mostly concentrating on his spine and ribs...areas he has had cancer.  Whole body is where Sean gets into a heat chamber and they heat his entire body (not his head) to temp of 40 degree C.  It usually takes 1.5 hrs to get his core body temp to 40 and they hope you can stay at this for an hour.....Sean yesterday stayed at 40-40.5 degree C for over 4 hours...how he does it is amazing.  As you can imagine he was sweating like crazy and they're constantly monitoring him and feeding him liquids the entire time.  After he said enough and they shut off the machine it still took another 1-1.5 hrs to get below fever temp...incredible!  Outside of treatments Sean has been feeling good enough that we have been golfing, biking and he even hiked with me up Grouse Grind 2800' vertical climb...I was impressed...not an easy hike. We're headed to clinic in few minutes for local treatment today.
God Bless!

Sean, Laurie, and Karl Family,

My brother, Paul DePhillips, shared your story with me last spring and asked for prayers for all of you. I want you to know that Sean is being held close in prayer daily, during my sacrificial Divine Mercy Chaplet, in my effort to take on some of your pain and suffering.

I will continue this prayer and my Rosary offered for all those with illnesses that have touched our lives.

Stay strong in your faith in God.

Easter Blessings,
Pam Watson

Dearest Karl Family,
We haven't seen y'all in several months, but as we receive this news tonight, wanted to remind you that Logan and I continue to pray diligently for Sean as he bravely continues this journey. The Karl family's courage, grace and faith have touched us in a way that I can't explain, but feel God tugging on our hearts to pray for all of you often. Keep up the good fight, Sean...South Carolina tennis friends are sure pulling for you!
