One of the many things that Sean has taught us is to appreciate all that we have and all that we can do. We treasure each and every milestone, knowing how hard he worked to achieve it. We'd like to be able to use this site to share these experiences with you.

Sean had a good night, but at 6AM he spiked a fever again, and soon after he pulled out his IV and the G-tube button. The surgeon happened to be in the hallway, so he was able to place it back in quickly. However, to be sure that it was definitely positioned correctly, Sean had an x-ray. Thankfully, it is ok so Sean was able to avoid having to go back to the OR. He is now on an antibiotic since we still don't know what is causing the fever.

Dr. Pearl (his regular neurologist) also saw Sean this morning. Yesterday, Sean's Depakote level was very low (52 -- and usually it is in the 120s) so he is going to get some more medication through his IV to hopefully boost his number quickly. Apparently, his gut is having a tough time absorbing all of the medication and needs a few days to recover. In the meantime, we may give him Ativan to prevent further seizures.
