Scout lost her battle with rhabdomyosarcoma on July 7, 2007.

In her memory, we have established The Scout Fuller Fund for Social Justice to support individuals and organizations who, in the spirit of Scout's concern for others and sense of justice, are working to improve the lives of others. Tax-deductibe donations can be sent to:

On Monday, June 8th, we invite you to release purple helium balloons to celebrate the birthday of our wonderful daughter Scout, who we love more than ever and who continues to inspire us daily. We will be doing the same here in Indiana (and writing messages to Scout on the balloons). If you cannot do a balloon release, then light a candle at dusk in her honor. We welcome any photos you can send.

And on Wednesday, July 29, we invite you to visit Star Island for the dedication of the Scout Fuller Playland and Butterfly Garden. Go to "photos" to see the playground and the plaque. The dedication is the week of the Charles Darwin conference - see http://www.starisland.org/conferences/2009/ for information on attending the entire conference or taking the ferry out from Rye Harbor for the day. You can also contact us if you have questions.

July 7th marks the date that Scout died. We will spend it quietly with family, in sadness but also deep gratitude for Scout's life.
