It's finally here! Summer vacation! Scott was counting down the days of school and could hardly wait to get to Red Wing for the summer. It seems like we just got here, but have already been here for over a week. It has been fun reconnecting with all the neighbors and friends down here. I want to thank everyone here again for all their help that allows us to continue our weekend escapes here during the school year.
Before we left, Scott got a chance to have lunch with the guys from school. He had a great time while I was moving all my weapons of math instruction to my new room. I know, a new room! Scott really enjoyed seeing them, but was frustrated because I told them Scott had not been eating much for lunch lately. So, they only brought him one plain double cheeseburger. Well, I guess he kept looking for second one, his old usual order. I guess I just need a menu adjustment:). It really was special for the guys to go spend time with Scott.
Well, we finally did it. After researching the internet, driving through lots both here and in the metro for almost a year, we bought a golf cart! Scott was beginning to give up hope, but now he loves it. We had to go all the way to Lake City to buy a used cart from Hazeltine in Chaska:). Just imagine who may have ridden in it.
Yesterday, our good friend Darrel was visiting and Scott could not wait to go for a ride with him. He was directing the whole thing, no surprise, wanting Darrel to drive them around . It was fun to see him so excited about it. It was clear this was about the guys and not me:). He wanted to play with his new toy and be independent. It was great and I loved seeing them together carting around.
After Darrel left, the first thing Scott said was, "It was so fun!" He told me where they went and about the quality of the golf cart. He thinks it is a winner:). We were so lucky to find such a good deal. Now, he wants to accessorize it!
Hope you are all enjoying the summer and are able to recharge your batteries. Please continue to remember Scott in your prayers asking for continued progress, healing and determination. Thank you to everyone for your continued thoughts, prayers, and time.
James 1:17
Whatever is good and perfect comes down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow.
Love,
Scott and Terri
