We made it through Christmas. Thank you to all that sent us emails, signed in on Sarah's site, or sent us cards especially those that came the 24th and 25th. If you are waiting for a Christmas card from us, you'll be waiting until next year. I didn't do much shopping either. I had bought some stuff in July and I had ordered some legos for Chase and Wes in October knowing I wouldn't be up for shopping. I guess Kevin didn't get that memo because he went out one day and bought them a bunch of legos. So Chase and Wes recevied a whole lot of legos. The best part was when Kevin pulls the legos out of the plastic Toys R Us bag and told them they were not wrapped because we were being environmentally friendly. I didn't even bring us the plastic bag part.
Christmas was not the same. We were at Kevin's parents house. We just kept busy and tried not to think too much about anything. The boys didn't say much about Sarah but when they were playing legos they had made up a Cancer Hospital/St. Jude/superhero theme. It was sad but sweet. They were so accurate in their descriptions. Chase made a movie theater so the St. Jude kids would be distracted during their treatments. He also made sure they received numbing cream before any sticks. It was strange to hear them talking in these terms. They also had 2 superheros called Cancer guy. Both cancer guys had a medicine that killed cancer but Wes' guy killed brain tumors.
We are going to my parents in a few days. It's too hard for us to send around here days on end. The pain and sadness don't seem to be much better. We just function better.
