Sandy,My dearest cousin, though we've never had the opportunity to get to know one another, I feel that there is a connection.
I have started to read your journal and am overwhelmed with emotion, your humor and strength is like nothing I have ever seen, I admire that you are able to be so strong and not just for yourself and the nightmare you are enduring but for your mom, my aunt, whom I have such fond memories of. I only can wish that I were closer and could be talking to you in person, we never had a "close" family where we could have a yearly picnic or spend the holidays together, I regret not having that in the past, but that was then and this is now, I am going to try my best to get out and visit. I wish I could make it for the cousins get together, that would be so great, but I need to "hold down the fort" at work until the end of the year.
You and Aunt Betty are in my thoughts and prayers, as horrible as this time is, lets be happy that we have reunited and hope to have years ahead of us to get to know one another again. By the way did I mention how beautiful you are, you look fabulous! and that beauty is within as well.
Please give Aunt Betty a hug from her namesake "plus the jo", I know she may not remember but hey you never know right?
Well, I need to get back to reading your journal, you know what they say "life's a journey, not a destination" with that said, I will be hopefully seeing you all soon!
Hugs, kisses and a lot of love - Betty Jo
