Written Jan 20, 2011 9:07pmAmazingly, most of my students stuck with me! It is a slightly smaller class but that should just make it more fun to teach. Ahhh Freshman chemistry! What a breath of fresh air.
On the medical side, we met with the oncologist today. The cancer is definitely stage 3, infiltrating duct carcinoma, estrogen receptor positive, progestrogen receptor positive, and HER-2 Neu negative. This is actually good news, now we can set up the chemo regimine and get everything scheduled.
As far as the scans, CAT and MRI looked good, but something came up on PET. This means more scans will be necessary.

Written Jan 18, 2011 9:04pmWell, the cat is out of the bag, so they say. My students and colleagues have taken it remarkably well and being very supportive. Now time to get started with my scans tomorrow.
We've also notified the 3rd street bookclub and have received an overywhelming response from the neighborhood.
