I had some inspiration come my way and thought I would buckle down and let family & friends hear about Sam's progress.

Let me start off by saying, Sam is doing terrific! He had his palate (roof of his mouth) temporarily fixed on Sept. 30. After about a week or less of healing, he jumped on the wagon of eating. Needless to say, that's one of his favorite things to do. Thank you God for letting this day come into Sam's life. I've told people that ask how eating is going, if you want to see what happiness, gratefulness, & innocence looks like, watch Sam eat. He doesn't take one bite for granted. Infact, he's a bit angry when I finally call it quits. The one night it took me about 45 minutes to sit and feed both Luke & Sam. They're what Papa calls, bottomless pit boys.

We got a letter in the mail yesterday stating that our insurance would be covering a Baha hearing aid for Sam. Again, more good news that we have God to tthank for.

Sam isn't walking, but Luke is. Sam does get around when he wants to. He scoots all over on his back like a car mechanic. He can pull himself up onto his knees with help from a stool or something. Crawling is getting very close. He'll rock on all four and has attempted to move a bit but nothing official we see all the time. His legs are getting stronger too. He's learning how to get himself up the correct way by holding onto your fingers...instead of being pulled up.

Both boys are learning waving Hello & Good-bye, Cut the pickle, blowing kisses, identify body parts, giving kisses and hugs, peek-a-boo, and all sorts of stuff.

The boys are going to daycare which is going fabulously. Summer is in 1st grade which is also going great.

And just to remind everyone how wonderful Summer is...last night Sam woke up screaming around 8:30pm. He has a very sore diaper rash right now and he was clearly in pain. While I was trying to comfort him, Summer got up and wanted to hold him too. I told her no, that I needed to be with him right now. Summer was offended that she couldn't help too. Through the grace of God, Sam eventually calmed down enough to put some medicine on his bottom and dress him again. I gave him a bottle and laid on the floor next to him and his fought through the pain. Summer started to make funny faces at him and got his mind of the pain. Before you know it, he was laughing hysterically at her. Yes it was past her bedtime and the 2 were getting a little wond up but for the first time in 10 long minutes, he was screaming in pain. I apologized to Summer and told her that she made Sam feel better, not me. I guess what I'm trying to say is I feel guilty sometimes goinbg on and on about Sam because Summer has been such a huge part in his recovery process. Luke too, Sam wouldn't be motivated to do so many things if it wasn't for seeing Luke do them first. I hope my 3 kids will always be close to one another because at this part of our lives, they lean on each other for happiness and strength.

I will dig through my lalest picture CD's and get some updated pics of the kids on here.

God bless and thanks for checking in on Sam.
