Today was awards day at school. Sam received the social studies and reading awards for his class, an "All A's" certificate, the Star Achiever award, and first place in Accelerated Reading. Not too bad for a kid who missed all of the 5th grade and was absent more than 40 days this school year! To say we are proud would be an understatement! Sam's team lost their game Monday night by one point; the score was 6 to 5. It was a really good game. Sam got a hit every time he was up to bat, but the other team's fielding was pretty good and Sam couldn't make it to first base - his legs are just too slow! However, he was an excellent first baseman - he didn't miss a single play. The next game is a week from tomorrow night (see schedule above). With Mother's Day approaching, I am so thankful to have my two boys with me, to be able to watch Sam play ball again, and to see him at the top of his class in school. God has blessed me beyond measure - every day is a gift that I never take for granted. I have many friends who will be spending Mother's Day without their precious children. Please remember them in a special way during this time. Thanks as always for reading. God bless you all! Love, Teresa
