For the longest time, I was an advocate for having Ryne in daycare. It was helping him be around other kids who were "normal" and he was learning things from them. Now all this learning he's been doing is coming back on me -- big time. Where else would my darling son learn to say things like "I don't like you" or "Not right now, maybe later." Not that these are any reason to keep him out of daycare -- it's just kind of funny how it's come full circle and he'e picking up on the other stuff at daycare too.
We have had a few successful ventures on the potty recently. I'd like to be able to spend a full weekend doing nothing but working on the potty situation, but I'm still working every single Saturday (plus I'm working until 7:30 or 8 pm every night). Greg's working in Paducah through the week, so the timing couldn't really be worse for trying to potty train a kid. But Ryne's starting to show some interest and sometimes if you ask him to go on his potty, he will. Are we working really hard at it? No, not yet. I did buy him a potty time watch, but I don't want to expose him to it until we are ready to dive in full speed ahead. We're getting there....just not quite yet. I'd hate to get him going on it really good and not be able to completely follow through.
In other exciting news....Ryne will get a cast put back on Lefty this coming Friday (July 10). He'll wear it for 3 weeks. In that time, we're going to push to get him to use his righty. He's showing more attempts at trying to use it....so maybe now is a good time to try again. We also have an appointment with our neurologist coming up as well. Before we see her, we have an EEG scheduled. Please pray that all goes well with this EEG. It'd be a great blessing if it would show no signs of seizure activity. Please, please pray for that outcome.
Aside from that, we're hanging in there. Ryne's been having a good time swimming in Papaw Jim's pool and he loves to cut the grass with his bubble mower (if only that thing had a tiny blade in it....he'd really be saving Greg and I some work -- lol). We're off to the lake this weekend for the 4th. This is the first 4th we've been able to go to the lake since I was pregnant with Ryne, so we're really looking forward to it. It should be a great time!
Happy 4th to you all! Have a fun and safe weekend!
