My mind has been put at ease just a little in talking to Morgan's OT. She thinks that the biggest reason why Morgan failed the hearing test is not because she can't hear but because of her neck. Morgan has torticolis thats she's been getting therapy on since she was about 2 months old and its very difficult for her to turn her head one way. She said it could just be that Morgan didn't turn her head for the sounds because it was too hard for her and when the noise kept getting louder and louder she would finally give up and go ahead and try to look in that direction to see what the heck was making so much noise. So i don't know but i like this theory alot better! LOL I know she can do a full 180 degrees rotation with her neck if she's following a toy but its a struggle and she usually only does the full 180 degrees if its a toy that she REALLY likes and motivates her to keep trying to follow it. As the days go on the more i wished i would have said ok fine lets do the ABR hearing test first before tubes only so i could have a piece of mind. She really needs the ear tubes bad though and that was the whole reason why we were even seeing the ENT that day so i wasn't prepared for him to tell me he thinks she has a significant hearing loss. Oh well i'm just trying not to dwell on it too terribly much but it has made me watch her a bunch more to see how she reacts to different sounds and such.
Rylan's been sick with a cold i think. He got sick on Saturday and since then i've been having to give him several breathing treatments a day. He's just been really junky sounding, wheezy, and retracting a bunch. I hope these breathing treatments don't become a standard part of his everyday life.
Aiden just finished up week 2 of school. I think he likes it ok. He talks about several friends that he's made. I don't like the bus driver aide that he has though. She's an old hag thats snappy, rude and mean. She reminds me of this old piano teacher i used to have! And i also don't like the fact that its 96 degree's outside and humid and they aren't using an air conditioner on the bus. Aiden is on the bus for an hour since they have these stupid boundary lines and even though we have an Edmond address he has to go to school in Guthrie so they come pick him up at 8am and he's on the bus until 9am and then school gets out and noon and he doesn't get home until 1pm. He comes home drenched in sweat.
Brian is still go to PA. He's been gone over 3 weeks now. Hopefully he'll be coming home on Saturday. We've all missed him greatly and i know he's missed all of us too. Well thanks for checking in on us. God bless!
