Hi Ryan:
     First know that we are praying for you and hope that already you are seeing progress.  Also, I graduated from Miramonte in 1975! I was surprised when I learned this was your school.  It is awesome that you are surrounded with love and people who care...and around the hope of Jesus.
     The other thing in common is that my youngest daughter Katrina (due to domestic abuse and anorexia) had seizures that left her brain without oxygen for a long time.  She remains in a vegetative state and we are caring for her at home.  I am really curious about your progress and the things your parents did to help you recover as we are praying for results for Katrina too!  Also, as parents, it is a lonely place to be to see our kids hurt like this and helpless.  So, I am also hopeful that your parents might be willing to call us so we can talk more personally.  My number is 530-941-8360.
      Again, we hope you already have your miracle but no matter where your healing is at, we will continue to pray for you...and please pray for Katrina as well.  She is a beautiful young woman, now 22 years old.  You and your family can see her story also at www.TrinaLeigh.com.  We tried to find all of the articles we could about you so that we know how to pray.  I wish there were more updates, so hopefully you or your parents can let us know how you are doing.

I haven't been to this site in a while but I do want you to know that Ryan and all of you are in my prayers daily.
It was great to see you last week.  I was so encouraged to see God's peace upon you.  I love you guys.
We continue to expect a miracle!  I thank Him for all the prayers I prayed for the Buchanan family that He has already answered.

Hi Bret,

May I make a suggestion? Perhaps you could put a short summary on CaringBridge every other month or so. That is what a lot of folks I've known on here sometimes do once they feel they no longer need this site. It is helpful for those who get other updates from other people on here. Just a thought.

Dear Buchanan Family,

I want u to know that i have spread the news! I have told my school during an assembly and they are all praying for u, when my teacher asks for prayer requests its almost automatic for the 7th grade to pray for him. Ive told them of the Armstrongs and we pray for them too. 2day @ youth group i told them of ryans accident, in front of some 200 teens. We had a prayer meeting just for him, and it was optional and almost everyone came anyways. We continue to keep u in our prayers, some people think im crazy for trying to tell everyone, but the faster its spread, the more donations, and most of all, prayer... We love u and we are so proud of how god has gotten u guys through this, continuing to pray for ryans healing... <3

Dear Buchanan Family-

It has been a while since I have written but I have been keeping current every day with the wonderful updates here. Your posts have given me so many teaching moments to my sons and to myself as well. We are thankful to be able to contribute to Ryan's care and look forward to the day we will see him recovered. We are loving each of you and praying for you. Thank you for letting us all in to learn more about the depth of God's goodness and provision as you seek to serve Him and model Him each day. It is a privilege to pray for you!

With Much Love!

Wow, that is so sad! I am so sorry for your friends loss. How old was the son? I will keep them in my prayers. Sometimes God only knows why things happen, for awhile anyway, until good comes out of it. As I was reading yesterday, "All things work together for good to those that love Him and are called according to His purpose." Clearly you trust Him and that is awesome! I'm sure that Ryan does too! God bless you all!

Sincerely,
Rachel Rickert

Dear Bret, Ryan, Jacob and Janine,

I am so sorry to hear about your friends son. I am praying for the Armstrong family along with praying for Ryan's healing. I felt new hope when I heard that Bryan Stowe is now talking. I know he had a different injury than Ryan but at the same time it was a very tramatic brain injury.

Bret, I cried for you or maybe with you this weekend over you missing your old Ryan. I pray for God to encourage you even if in small ways inRyan's recovery.

I will continue in prayer for your family and the Armstrong's.

Hope

Hope is the thing with feathers

That perches in the soul,

And sings the tune--without the words,

And never stops at all,

And sweetest in the gale is heard;

And sore must be the storm

That could abash the little bird

That kept so many warm.

I've heard it in the chillest land,

And on the strangest sea;

Yet, never, in extremity,

It asked a crumb of me.
