Hi gang!  After a frustrating day at the hospital, with the port not returning blood which resulted in 8 hours of hanging out at UNMC, we're home and Russ is doing great!  This is turning out to be the best chemo session so far, with NO NAUSEA and no extreme fatigue.  In fact, Russ is still awake at midnight, munching on fruit and cereal and pretzels, and feels good! Wow, what a difference from even two weeks ago.  We have obviously reached the right combination of anti-nausea drugs, plus our trips to Colorado (and lots of TLC from his two Jans) have increased his hemoglobin (9.5 today) so he hasn't needed any transfusions.   He is feeling better and getting around easier.  What a relief!  We had a good trip to Colorado, and I had a great time camping in Wyoming (thanks Judy, Geo and JoAnne).  We got to see Larry, Peggy and Cathy - good to catch up with you - plus we got to spend time with the Frames, Dean, Dawn and Patrick, and Amanda.  Amanda and I laughed at silly stuff that only a few people would understand (Sal, we need to tell you about it so we can laugh.......and Ryan, thanks for listening to our hysteria!) so we had a very therapeutic visit.  (Priceless mom/daughter time!)  It was great to play with Patrick and see his advances and get some grandson hugs.  We will be back in Colorado in a couple weeks and will get to catch up with more of the family (Carolyn, Christa, etc.) when we celebrate Russ' mom's 90th birthday.  In between, Emma and Nora are going to come to grandma's house and get spoiled.  This summer is flying by way too fast.  Our thoughts and prayers are with Bill for his surgery tomorrow.  We're pulling for ya and hope for great results.
Stay positive and we'll update again soon.   Have a great 4th of July!
