Mi historia

Rosemarie is like most 3 year olds. She loves to play Barbies and house with her big sister, Katee, and Aunt Kathy. She loves to sing and dance. She has recently started writing her name and has made the transition to using the big girl potty. She enjoys jumping on the trampoline in the summer. Last week she learned how to play go fish and bingo! She has also been fighting cancer for the last 2 1/2 years. She is an amazing child for all she goes though.

Please read her full story updated 3/15/10. And as always, all prayers for Rosemarie's recovery are appreciated. Thank you.
Rosemarie was diagnosed with stage IV Neuroblastoma on August 7, 2007. Neuroblastoma is a cancer of the symphatic nervous system. She had a tumor on her left adrenal gland and boney lesion in several places. We came across this diagnosis from an abnormal CT scan. She was 13 1/2 months old when diagnosed.

Rosemarie has had 10 rounds of chemo (4 intermediate risk doses and 6 high risk doses), 5 surgeries including a 12 1/2 hour tumor resection surgery, a stem cell transplant, and 13 days of radiation. We have spent at that point an estimated total of 100 days inpatient at St. V's and 30 days inpatient at Nationwide in Columbus. This rounded out the first year and a half of treatment still with much cancer left in her body. Just after her third birthday she had another surgery to place a port and biopsy one of the lesion on her head. At that time she started chemo again. She had 5 more rounds which didn't have any affect on the cancer. In January of '10 Rosemarie did a MIBG treatment at Cincinnati Children's Hospital. The most recent scan show that the cancer is stable, no better but no worse. She will begin a new treatment study as soon as her imune system recovers more.
