When I got home last night, things were not looking good: she had retched multiple times during the day and the pred had gotten her so exhausted, she was restless and could not set still for even a minute. The exhaustion affected her O2 and heart rate to the point that she had to be put on oxygen during the day. So I called pulmonary to take her off the pred. And the good news is: Rose definitely turned around last night. She slept a good 10 hours and coughed up some serious amount of "stuff" this morning (no need to go into details :) She could saturate 98-99 on 2 liters of oxygen. She still sounds a bit congested and looks quite pale. But hopefully, with another couple of days of good rest, she'll be ready for her big birthday party.
