The patient is rapidly losing his status as a patient. When he can manage to go fishing twice a day, I think he is well on the road to recovery. I still have to carry the gas can and usually some other equipment out for him and I have to crank up the boat lift when he comes back (but I am developing some awesome muscles in my arms.) All in all, things are going well, He is back to doing most of his pre-surgery exercises although he does take it easy on the ones that stress his chest. He is walking half an hour most days and is sleeping better too. He found out he has neuropathy in his feet (he couldn't figure out why they felt so cold inside but not on the outside) and he has something for that so it is better.
We got our leak fixed with a minimum of fuss once we got a plumber who knew what he was doing. The first one had us tear up our downstairs bathroom (remove medicine chest, vanity and ceiling) and then couldn't quite decide how to fix it and said it might cost twice what his original estimate was. We called a second one who just looked at it and said he could take care of it easily and it only took him half a day. So now we have to put the bathroom back together again but the kids offered to do that so we will get that done in the next week or so.
The weather has been pretty dry so I haven't had to mow lately. Our sprinkler system is not working so the grass isn't growing much. I can live with that for now. It is hard to believe the summer is about over and in another two months we will be leaving for Florida. It will be good to get back to our "other" life that seemed a lot less complicated. :-)
Thanks again for your continued prayers and support. They are what keeps us going.
