Happy Summer everyone!  We have been sweltering the last few days with the heat index near 106 degrees.  Of course, Riley wanted to go outside to ride her bike after dinner last night.  We convinced her that playing in the sprinklers was a better idea.  Thank goodness she agreed with us!

We have added another dog to our family - Sierra.  She is a German shepherd and an absolute sweetie.  She is about 15 pounds underweight and to make sure Riley is gentle with her, we told her Sierra is a little bit sick.  So Riley will put her hands on the side of Sierra's face and tell her, "It's okay sweat heart."  It's too cute.  Riley also calls her honey.  Riley calls our two male dogs - Jax and Sam - buddy or bud.  She cracks me up!

On Saturday, June 13 we had an NF walk in Kansas City.  It was nice to put a face with a name with a few families we have been corresponding with via email.  The weather was perfect.  Jay, Riley and I didn't actually do the walk - Riley wanted to just play at the park.  So we did.  Riley got her face painted and had lots of fun.

Our father's day weekend was filled with lots of fun.  Saturday we rode a train through a small town.  Riley, Jay and I rode in the caboose in chairs that were up high and you can see over the top of the train.  It was neat and there were lots of intersections where we could wave at everyone.  Riley had a blast.  We followed that up with lunch at a restaurant  where a train delivers your food.  Riley thought that was "awesome!"

Sunday we bought Jay a new fish and coral for his tank.  Riley picked out a fish that looks like Dory from Nemo.  Then we went over to Uncle Doug's for BBQ and swimming.  I got Riley a swim vest - it looks like a shirt that zips with floats in it.  Riley was clingy at first when we got in the pool, but by the end she was jumping from the top of the ladder into the pool.  She would grab a noodle and "swim" with it saying "just keep swimming, just keep swimming."

Riley has been saying and doing lots of funny things.  Sunday morning she told me "Welcome to the Jungle!"  She will ask for something and if we tell her no, she says "Oh Man."  The other day she gave me a thumbs up.  She is very goofy.

I hope everyone has a fantastic week.

Hugs of love, Andrea
