Update on Ricky
Written Jun 7, 2013 6:47pm by Elroy Sequeira
Ricky is doing really well because of all of your thoughts and prayers. On Wednesday, Ricky had the first of two abdominal surgeries. It went very well and Ricky will be in the hospital for the next few days to help with his recovery. The second surgery will likely occur within the next three to six months or so. If you would like to visit Ricky, he is at the University of Minnesota Fairview Hospital in Room 407, Unit 7C. Once again, thanks for all of your love and support!
Tabling and Benefit Hockey Game
Written Sep 16, 2012 7:35pm by Justin RiemHi all,Ricky is doing better each day, but it will be a long and arduous road to recovery so he still needs our prayers and support. We will be tabling for donations and wristbands all this week (Sept. 17-20) on the second floor of the UST Law building. If you are willing to make a donation, please bring cash or write a check to "Ricky DeMello Fund". If you make a donation of at least $1 you will receive a "Keep Smiling Ricky" wristband and have an opportunity to get your picture taken and write a note for a scrapbook we're giving to Ricky. I know most of you are students on a tight budget, but Ricky needs all the help and support we can give him, so we (and Ricky) would greatly appreciate any amount you can give! Please spread the word and encourage others to donate. Thanks!
Update from Darrell
Written Sep 7, 2012 5:43pm by Elroy Sequeira" Update on Sept 7 at 5.15pm
Ricky is currently en route from Rome to Minneapolis. Expected Time of Arrival to University of Minnesota Fairview Hospital this evening is nearly midnight, tonight.
All is going well thus far, we have been informed.
Gary has boarded his flight on Delta/KLM with expected arrival at MSP is 6:59pm local time this evening.Pat Cannon also departed Rome this morning and is expected to reach MSP at 6.30pm this evening.
I arrived in Mumbai at 1am Sept 8 from Rome.
All is well ... we had 3 days of good things - Ricky was excited about going home to Minnesota, and 1 day of high stress yesterday Sept 6, with a lot of uncertainity about the air ambulance transfer, but all is well that ends well.
We are getting a lot of texts & calls and messages from people asking if they can come to the hospital.
As much as I would love to say "Yes" ... the answer is not now and not for at least a period of 3days to even 3 weeks as he can't see people for a few days at least and that people should check with Gary, Elroy, or Justin.
Please note that we don't want an influx of people asking about going or just going on their own to the hospital.
Structured visits will be organized for everyone of Ricky's friends and well wishers.
This is truly A Miracle in Rome!
Your continued prayers are solicited for Ricky's continued improvement!
God Bless you and your families!"
