Wendy,

I echo Kari and Terri's thoughts, I wish there was something I could do to help ease your pain.  I lost an aunt I was very close to almost two years ago to cancer and it helps to remember all the fun we had together and knowing that she is no longer suffering helps ease the pain a little.  I'm sure you're going through something similar with Rick, he has left a tremendous void in so many people's lives, but now he's everyones angel.

Keeping busy in the coming days is a challenge I am sure.  I don't know if you like Mexican food, but if you ever have an erge to go to Mazatlan, or just to get out of the house, all of us girls here are only a phone call away!  As Kari and Terri said, we're all here for you :)

Sending lots of thoughts and prayers your way,
Courtney

Hey Wendy, just wanted to let you know that I've been thinking about you a lot.  I hope you're doing ok.  I know this is so very hard.  I wish there was something I could say or do to help ease the pain and the sadness.  Please know that you are not alone and we are here for you whenever you need to talk or to get out of the house.  I love you my dear.

Wendy,

I wish there were words or something that I could do to ease the sharp pain of losing such a wonderful man.  I think of you so many times every day and we talk about you so often.  My heart is heavy with sadness for you.  I wish that I could help you get through this difficult part of Rick's journey faster or easier and feel helpless knowing that all I can do is tell you that we are all here for you and we continue to pray for you and your family.  I hope that just knowing how much all of us thought of Rick and how much we all care about you and share in your grief and sadness is enough to bring you a small amount of comfort.  Please reach out to us at ANY time for ANY reason.

With love, hugs & many prayers,

Wendy, you and the family are in my heart at all times.  Rick is truly at home with God now.  God has a good man with him, although he will be truly missed here.  Take one day at a time and things will get better.  Remember all the people who love you and are here for you.

Hugs and Prayers,

Hi Wendy,

Just wanted to let you know that I'm thinking of you!  Enjoy the memories of the pictures you are putting back in albums and scrapbooks...that will give you a chance to re-live lots of fun times with Rick.  Memories will always be a part of you and they can never be taken away.  So, in a way, Rick and his spirit are always with you.

Great article in The Free Press today by John Cross as a memory to Rick.  Be sure to read it sometime when you are ready.

Hugs and blessings,

Good Morning, Wendy!

What a pleasant surprise to read today's paper and come across an aricle about Rick in the Outdoors section by John Cross.  Another wonderfully written tribute to an amazing man.
I'm thinking about you and Rick's family every day and praying for all of you....even Eddie.  :)  He must miss Rick terribly.  When your grief is too much to bear alone, please reach out to us.  We are all here for you.

With love, prayers & hope,

Wendy - I've been thinking of you and praying for you all day today.  I like what you wrote about this being the first day of a journey WE must take.  I hope you always remember that you are not alone and that there are so many people who want to journey with you.  I'm glad you hear Rick and sense his presence - he will forever be a part of your life.  Love you, Friend - and hope to see you soon.  stacy

Rick's celebration of life and his relationships with Wendy, his family and special friend Eddie was the most touching experience I have had in a long time. It is amazing how many lives Rick touched. The love that is shared between husband and wife. Wendy will continue her journey without Rick at her side but always in her heart. The wonderful times that they shared will never be lost. Remembering them will bring a smile to Wendys face and a warm feeling to her heart. Wendy, you will go through the grieving process as we all do when a relationship with some one or some thing comes to an end. Allow yourself to experience these feelings without guilt. Love yourself, be kind to yourself, take time for yourself. Do as you choose not as others choose for you. I say this because of the strength you have shown through these past several months. You have many friends that will do anything for you. I know it is difficult to ask for help.

At the service Deb and I sat with a close friend of yours. I had not seen her for several years. It was so good to talk with her. She talked about the happier days we shared while working at ISJ. The days that it was fun to go to work because it was like a close family. Now she too is experiencing the devistation of the ugly disease called cancer. I guess we will never know why it takes so many good and wonderful people.

We will miss you greatly my friend! The funniest thing I heard all day was about you, your van, loud speakers and lots of Kool-Aid being drank! You were a inspiration for many of us! I can't express how much of a impact you had on mine and Monique's lives! You were a great friend and we will miss you dearly. I look forward to seeing you again with Christ or Lord!

Wendy  & family,

Although words seem to say so little, may they help in some small way to ease the sense of loss that you are experiencing.  Hold fast to your memories, to all the cherished moments of the past, to the blessings and the laughter, the joys and the celebrations, the sorrow and the tears.  They all add up to a treasure of fond yesterdays that you shared and spent with Rick, and they keep him close to you in spirit and thought.  The special moments and memories in your life will never change.  They will always be in your heart, today and forever more.

God bless,
Adeline

Rick's funeral was a beautiful testament to an amazing man.  The scriptures, the music, John's eulogy and Pastor Fred's sermon...all of it was wonderful.  It is so evident how much of an impact Rick has made on so many people's lives.  From the time Pastor Fred started reading the gospel with so much passion to the point that he ended his awesome sermon, I knew Rick had made a huge impression on yet another person.
I will carry my memories of Rick's strength, courage, humor and determination until the day I meet him again.  I will continue to pray for all of you for strength, peace and comfort in the coming days and weeks.

With love, prayers and sympathy,
Kari

Rick used to comment on how I was always smiling, well, the biggest reason I was always smiling when Rick was around because he had a bigger smile on his face.  He was always there at Mankato Motors in the mornings to greet all of us and give us all a bad time about something.  He always knew how to make us laugh.  He made a big impact on my life and am so glad I was able to be a part of his life.  He was a wonderful man and will be truly missed.  I hope you all can find comfort in all the great memories of Rick!
Everything at the visitation tonight was wonderful, what a wonderful tribute to Rick's life!
