Hello again from Carbondale. It is so much fun to watch Laci's personality slowly returning. To see this you have to spend time with her but it is evident that she is patiently waiting to get going again. Yes I said "patiently" waiting. It amazes me how at ease she is with where she's at. She will occassionaly get frustrated when she can't get us to understand what she wants or can't complete a task but most of the time she is calm while she waits on regaing control of her body.

The increase in Baclofen through her pump is making a big difference in her tone. The good news is we're no where near optimum yet so I think it will continue to show even greater benefits.

Her OT and PT seem pleased with her improvements. Her head and neck control are really showing significant gains. The Baclofen is allowing her to move forward on many fronts w/o her body fighting her as much. One of the techs said today that she is looking more like herself everyday and she is. She is alert and involved with everything going on around her.

Today when I got here the girls had her in the kitchen while they were preparing a meal for the participants. She was having a ball listening to them interacting with each other. I told her I was going to her room because she was having too much fun w/o me getting in the way. She stayed down there for about an hour.

Deb will be coming back Monday and I'll be heading back to Vevay. If anything significant happens I'll update again.
