Journal

This is the last entry to this journal.
I have been writing for Bob and Glennis throughout Bob's illness and passing. From the beginning Bob requested that this not be a record of sickness, but a means of communication.
There are a few things I feel I must share.
Bob was an extraordinary man. He was witty and intelligent. Throughout his illness he was very dignified, and he never lost his ability to laugh or smile. Bob NEVER complained, never lost his winning positive attitude.
In the ten years I knew Bob he taught me many things, of course the most important was "life is uncertain -eat dessert first". Bob silently touched the lives of many and did not look for recognition on this earth. He was also a generous man. He had a passion for his work and an excellent work ethic. In his illness and death Bob taught me that there is ALWAYS hope, NEVER give up and always keep your sense of humor. (Among other things).
I am very grateful for the joy and companionship he shared with my mother Glennis. The love they shared was complete and pure. They faced this battle together with the Lord and Bob was never alone, Glennis provided excellent care and the Lord held them both in his loving arms and continues to do so now.
Thank you to Pastors Patricia and Harlen Wienke and ALL of the members of WORD of LIFE FELLOWSHIP for their constant prayer, their healing presence and the continual stream of wonderful food. They really provided 24 hour a day support to Bob and Glennis and their family.
Thank you also to Bob's sister Patty and her husband Tom who also provided lots of emotional support to Bob and Glennis throughout his illness and passing, excellent meals (bringing Bob's favorite family recipes all prepared for him) Tom even sang and did all of the photos for the website.
To all of you who I've referred to as TEAM BOB. THANK YOU for your prayers, support, visits, flowers, kind words, I can't name you all because there are really too many and I don't want to leave anyone out but you are all a living testament to how special Bob and Glennis are to us all.
I am sure that Bob is enjoying chocolate or some other heavenly thing we can't even imagine. And I for one look forward to the day when I see him again with Jesus.
Love, Catherine Aysta (Glennis's daughter)
