We had a great Christmas with our family.Hon & Bill came up from Louisiana bearing Cajun delicacies and a great time was had by all.The sight of our grandchildren on Christmas day was the best medicine the doctor could have ordered for Reid.Today Reid had another round of chemo and he is resting comfortably in his favorite chair. When asked how he feels, Reid describes it as “running on half throttle” or just plain “lousy.”(kind of like a bad case of the flu – everyday of his life)I have to pull these words out of him as he never complains nor does he wallow in self pity.I will begin going into work next week – coming in late mornings.Reid Jr. has assured me that he can take care of his father until I get home, if not, I’ll hire another caregiver to help out.My daily devotional today spoke about Trusting in the Lord in a crisis. In stated, “Some people fail miserably here, while others are at their best in tough times. Some people rely on the Lord in the midst of adversity and may forget about Him when life is flowing smoothly.Difficult times can jolt you into awareness of your need for the Lord, whereas “smooth sailing” can lull you into the stupor of self-sufficiency.Consistently trusting in the Lord is vital to flourishing in His presence.”(Taken from Jesus Calling)Love, Lori
