My Story

Thank you for checking out Rachel's story.

Rachel continues to improve in small incremental steps. She requires daily stretches, equipment use, reinforcement of skills....etc. and the tasks are daunting!

Please keep her in your prayers and us as well because the strength we use is not our own!

Goodness I haven't been able to update because of the changes to the site.

We changed the amount of baclofen going into Rachel's nervous system in hopes of getting her out of this plateau.  Well, it seems to be working but as with all good things there's a trade off.  First she had to learn to be continent all over again.  She had several potentially embarrassing moments in school but her wonderful classmates didn't let it phase them.  I am so grateful that God has surrounded her with such mature and sensitive classmates.

Another issue is her eyes.  They constantly move back and forth and although she doesn't seem to be bothered by it she does say her vision is worse.

She was evaluated at Rosehill rehab last week.  The next step is to have a family meeting so the therapists can outline their plan for us.  I feel very hopeful and look forward to her starting there.

The transmission is going in the van.  It's supposedly under warranty so just say a prayer that whatever is wrong is covered.

The next thing to go up was the heat pump in the house.  So we have no heat and no air.  Luckily it's been pretty mild but the heat is definitely coming.  We had to stay at Jimmy's those really hot days.  Thank goodness he lives near by and we get along.

So according to statistics my bad luck has run it's course....I've had my three problems....  now it's on to better days.

Well it's late and Grey's Anatomy is getting good.  Have a blessed day and please continue to keep Rachel in your prayers!
