A very special HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Trey!!! I look forward to that day in Heaven when I can finally meet this amazing child!!

And you are so right about sufferings. God uses those to mature  us(James 1:2-4) and develop that Godly character that He desires(Romans 5:3-5). These sufferings do not compare at all to the glory that will be revealed in us(Romans 8:18), and God makes us more than conquerors of all of them(Romans 8:31)! Trey is MORE than a conqueror of cancer and death, and NOTHING can separate him or us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord(Romans 8:35-39). God is so so awesome to graciously give us this victory over sin and death through Christ! How amazing!

Wow, what a wonderful post. Thank you so much for being so raw and honest with us; it really is a blessing and it is God using you and speaking through you. Even in all of this tragedy with Trey, He has and continues to use it for His glory and to touch others. A great, insightful post that was helpful time in some ways.

You truly are an amazing man of God, filled with the Holy Spirit, Jeremy. Jesus tells us to let our light shine for Him, and boy, you let it shine We all have weaknesses, especially when it comes to faith...but WE all have such am awesome Dad who loves us so much to be patient with is and give us mercy and grace to come out of those struggles as stronger people. He never leaves is not forsakes is, He is always with us. Always comforting us in our troubles and giving us that peace that surpasses understanding. That's something I know I need to remember more often.

Keep turning to Him and remembering that He sympathizes with any weaknesses you have, and He WILL help you!!

"Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven,Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need." (Hebrews 4:14-16)

So great!!! That is such a blessing from God that you can run for Trey! I know that He and Trey both are so proud of you!!! Trey did run a great race...and you are, too! And as God continues to work in you and prune you and purify you, you will run an even better one! Keep focusing on Him!

And referring to your earlier post, what awesome truth!!! If we are slice, God has a purpose for us here still!!! He loves us so much! God even still has a purpose for Trey, I believe, through using his wonderful, amazing story! We are children of such an amazing, awe-inspiring God!

"I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, attaining to the resurrection from the dead.

Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal,but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behindand straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 3:10-14)

Keep pressing on towards that wonderful, wonderful prize!!!

"Meanwhile we groan, longing to be clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling, because when we are clothed, we will not be found naked. For while we are in this tent, we groan and are burdened, because we do not wish to be unclothed but to be clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life. Now the one who has fashioned us for this very purpose is God, who has given us the Spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.

Therefore we are always confident and know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord. For we live by faith, not by sight. We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord. So we make it our goal to please him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it." (2 Corinthians 5:2-9)

Verses that speak to just how amazing it is to be clothed with our "heavenly dwelling" and to be at home with The Lord. This shows how much of a blessing it is to be with Him; He DESIGNED us for this purpose, He assures us of it through His Spirit. He sent His blessed, beautiful, glorious Son so we could be with Him. And now, Trey is with Him and so joyful, clothed with His heavenly dwelling! And we are still here, but we have such a wonderful hope, a hope that causes is to continue to live for Christ! Keep growing in Him and living and loving boldly for HIM as you go forward, my friend!

Yes, it is so amazing that Christ freed us from the curse of death! He totally set Trey free through His perfect sacrifice once for all, and now He has completely saved Trey since Trey accepted him! Death is not some terrible thing for us...rather, to die is gain in so many ways, as Paul says, because we get to go to Christ!!!!! And God is continuing to do such amazing things in and through you and your family, Jeremy. Keep encouraging people and spreading God's love and truth. Thank you so much for continuing to share your lives with us.

Aww, I'm sorry, Jeremy!!! I can't imagine how hard it is or how many times you've experienced this. This is a time to just lean more and more on God, as you know, the ultimate comforter. Remember that Trey is experiencing such joy with Him, and that we have a taste of that joy here, too. Rejoice in The Lord and let Him be there for you.

These are some of my favorite verses, that remind me who our God is to us and how He wants us to run to Him and pour our HEARTS out to Him:

"Yes, my soul, find rest in God;
    my hope comes from him.
Truly he is my rock and my salvation;
    he is my fortress, I will not be shaken.
My salvation and my honor depend on God[c];
    he is my mighty rock, my refuge.
Trust in him at all times, you people;
    pour out your hearts to him,
    for God is our refuge." (Psalm 62:5-8)

And these verses from 1 Thessalonians reminding us of the joy we have even when our loved ones, our brothers and sisters, are gone:

"Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage one another with these words." (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18)

And until that glorious day comes, whether in our lifetime or not..we keep living our lives for God to the fullest!

But you, brothers and sisters, are not in darkness so that this day should surprise you like a thief. You are all children of the light and children of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness. So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be awake and sober. For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk, get drunk at night. But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet. For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with him. Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing." (1 Thessalonians 5:4-11)

Ahh HAPPY SPIRITUAL BIRTHDAY to Trey!!!! So so wonderful!!! I praise God that Trey let Jesus into his heart, and now, because of that decision, He is seeing more glory than ever in Christ! So wonderful! And I am so thankful that you are going to use this as an opportunity to teach and share what God has done in your family's lives. Ahh an awesome awesome gift!! How special! MERRY CHRISTMAS to the Freemans! I hope that you all had an AMAZING day of spending time together, remembering your loved ones that have now fallen asleep, and most importantly, praising Christ! It is so so awe-inspiring that He sent His Son for us...the circumstances around His birth alone and how many people God mercifully and gracefully used was amazing, but Jesus's life and what He accomplished in His death and rising from the dead is even more amazing. Words can't even describe it! What a wonderful God we serve, who fulfilled His promises to Abraham and ALL of His people! He delivers us and is so so wonderful! Praise be to Him!

I have been so blessed to follow your story and see how God moved in Trey's life and continues to work through Him and in and through your family! The special love you express for your son, in so many special ways, is truly wonderful, Jeremy, and shines Christ into the world. Your faith and your love for GOD is so inspiring and brings such glory to Him!!!!!!!! Not only yours, but your entire family! I love hearing about them and your special moments with them. It is so amazing and shows God so much, even in those little moments.

So wonderful! And I am so thankful that you are going to use this as an opportunity to teach and share what God has done in your family's lives. Once again, it's so awesome how God is using you, Jeremy. Keep following Him! I pray that God speaks wonderfully through the message!
