Day +173
I can't believe I am typing from my own house. I sit at my computer surrounded by boxes. Yes. I am STILL unpacking. I just had to take a break though, so here I am.
Our trip from Wisconsin went really well. The kids got along and never once asked "are we there yet?" I am so thankful for the portable DVD player sent by my California family when Faith first got sick. It has saved us from many fights! We decided to take a little detour and come home through Chicago. It was nice to see the city. We also stopped on the way at the Jelly Belly Factory where we got a free tour. David and Faith really LOVED it. David was amazed by the many flavors and was the only one there brave enough to try the vomit flavored Jelly Belly. Hmmm... It didn't stay in his mouth long! The worker there then gave him a baby wipe jelly belly and a toothpaste jelly belly to "wash out his mouth". He thought that was hilarious. He came home with skunk spray jelly bellies, so if he offers you some candy, be forewarned!
On Saturday we stopped at "North America's only drive through cave". We got in a little wagon car and they drove us through. The kids really enjoyed that too. All in all it was a pretty good trip and the best part of all was pulling into our very own house. Our friends, Alicia nad Mandy, had put a sign up in town welcoming us home, and when we got home there were balloons and signs everywhere, with my favorite sign of all on the front. "God Cured me of Alplastic Anemia" witha picture of Faith. I don't know if we will ever take that one down.
Christ's Church at Mountain Fork, Grace Bible Church and The Crossing all went together and bought groceries for us and had them sitting on our table and in the fridge when we got here. What a BLESSING! It was so wonderful to get up in the morning and not have to worry about going to get groceries so we could have breakfast. We are so blessed by the wonderful people in our community. There was also a newspaper sitting on the table with a cute little girl on the front page. Faith was so excited to see that she was famous. We were very touched by the nice article written by Ms. Dilbeck to welcome us home. We were also blessed by our family who had come in while we were gone and painted all the trim, rewired the outlets, and moved our furniture back in to the Living room and Faith's room. Thanks Dad, Mom, Kathleen, Joe, Cory, Grandpa, Grandma, Lucas, and Tabbi!
David started back to school today. Fred is at work. Faith and I are unpacking the craft boxES. It is just so nice to be here. It felt strange the first day, almost like I was a guest here. But I am starting to get back to normal and feel more and more at home. Thank you GOD!
I got a call today from our transplant coordinator in Little Rock, welcoming us home today. We got some information ironed out and they are ready for us on Thursday morning. Faith is excited to go and see all "her" nurses and doctors. I will update some more on Thursday and let you know how that goes. Have a great day!
