A few people have asked me how i was doing,so i decided to send out this report....Now i am doing good. My Family, friends and my Union are supporting me unbelievably. My Union President Larry Cohen along with the Executive board are seeing to it that all my needs are being met. There is no way i could put up this fight without their help! Presently i am receiving at least 2 IV's a week and i am on lithium which most people recognize as the drug given for bi-polar people. In an Italin study 16 people with als were given lithium for 15 months and none of them died and the disease did not progress which is truly remarkble with als patients. Lithium is a neuro protector. In als one thing that happens is your motor neurons die. Maybe they are onto something,we hope and pray. My hope is that this retards or stops the progression of the disease until Embryonic Stem Cell Research provides the cure. In animal studies als has not only been stopped BUT the effects of als have been reversed with embryonic stem cell therapy! A note of interest for all, John McCain, the very principled republican candidate has announced if he's elected president he will veto SB 5 EVEN though he VOTED for embryonic stem cell research earlier. GO FIGURE. Either Democratic candidate will sign the bill. The cure for als and many other diseases will be found thru this research.. i will do my best to be here for the cure. Right now i am still walking and talking, sometimes needing to repeat myself. With the Grace of GOD i will be here for the cure. And with your continued support and prayers. GOD Bless you all and THANK YOU!
