Hi Danna:

I just now read this. My heart breaks every time I read one of your posts. This one, though filled with gratitude, broke my heart a bit more.

Little Paxton is flying high with many angels. I hope that he will visit you soon in your dreams and guide you to the light of hope and endurance, you so desperately need.

You are thought of, my friend. Sending love!

Dear Danna,

Though we only met once (@Marygrace's baby shower), we had the new mommy connection.  And I feel  honored to have met Paxton.  You & your family have been in my thoughts & prayers.  I look forward to assisting in anyway I can, through Paxton's Foundation.

Hello to everyone at Team Paxton.  We think of you often and Paxton has been in my thoughts more than usual.  My Madeline has been in the HOT Unit at Children's and I can't help but think every time we walk down the halls that Paxton was walked down these same halls, or he could have been in our room.  I wonder how many of the nurses we see took care of all of you (probably all of them).  Paxton you are such a little angle and crazy as it sounds I feel your presence up here.  All my love, thoughts, and prayers to the Andrews family and friends, you are all my inspiration!

God, bring comfort and peace. Peace is your essence. Peace is your name. Bring peace to this family who has lost their precious child in death. We come to you, God because we know that you sorrow, and are acquainted with grief. You too have endured the loss of a child. You empathize. We can’t help but ask, “Why?” Forgive our insistence, our confusion, even our anger. We believe that you are just, and we ache to understand how this tragic death is an expression of that justice, how it expresses your love. We also know – in our minds at least – that you seldom answer the “why?” question. We press you, but on these matters you are mostly silent. What we ask instead is “how?” How can we move forward? How can this bring us together and not tear us apart? How can we now live under the shadow of this untimely death? Answer this prayer with your comfort and guidance. There is no way to remove the pain. The grief is real. The only sanity is to know, to believe, in a life beyond with you, when all the scales are righted and the sufferings are made good. We trust you and your promise that while this child’s life on earth is done, his life beyond has just begun. With that release we lose him and let him go into your arms, then by faith receive in return the boundless comfort of your presence. That is all, that is enough. Amen.Still in my prayers

Dear John and Danna-

Although I don't know either of you, I met your sister and brother in law last summer with the Hoffmans and Millers while we all vacationed together in Eagle River as a group.  I remember how excited Amy was for your baby and she had shared the journey of your pregnancy.  As a mom of two ( 1 girl, 1 boy)  my heart breaks for you and those that loved Paxton. His smile was magnetic and I couldn't help but smile back at his sweet little face.  I wish I had the perfect words to comfort you but there are none.  As mentioned in one of the posts... there may be some peace in knowing he is no longer in pain.  What remains is the pain you feel which is very real and there is no doubt you will keep him present in your lives forever despite his physical presence not being here.  He clearly was loved by his mommy and daddy and you did everything you could to give him the best chance of beating this dreadful disease.  You have made all of us parents proud by your love, perseverance, dedication and fight to save this little guy..I'm humbled.  May you find comfort in those around you and know that you have a very special angel watching over you forever.  Many blessings to you.

I am so sorry for your loss, I can't imagine how hard this must be for you all. I never met Paxton but I can tell by what other people have wrote and from things I have heard that he touched so many lives in his short time here on Earth. He is an inspiration for all those fighting out there. I can't wait to meet the little angel in Heaven. I pray for you all every day - that God would bring you peace and healing in this hard time.

The Psalms are where I turn to when times are hard, I hope these verses encourage you.
Psalms 27:4-5 One thing have I asked of the LORD, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to inquire in his temple. For he will hide me in his shelter in the day of trouble; he will conceal me under the cover of his tent; he will lift me high upon a rock.
Psalms 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
