Mitchell Family, I don't know you but we have a precious child in Heaven, too. My granddaughter, Ashley, went to be with Jesus Oct. 8, 2003, she had leukemia. My heart breaks for you. You can check Ashley's site if you want, it's a classic site, or/rayann. Paxten's pics are so cute, makes me want to hug him.

Hey Paxten!! Just wanted to share with you the blessing I received yesterday......I left work a little early and ran by the grocery store because I was craving a hamburger on the grill. As I walked to the door, I saw a precious lady with two young children. It was your mommy and Ari and Levi! I got to see them and love on them. Levi looks a lot like you! But I tell ya, you all three get your traits from your dad, strong genes there! It absolutely made my day. Although you are in heaven you can see the love that is in that family still. Oh how they loved you sweet one and still do. Ari will start school which is so hard to believe. You watch after her okay you are her big brother. Keep an eye on your mom and dad too, they mean a lot to me. Well I better get back to work but wanted to let you know how the Lord blessed me yesterday! Love you little man and miss you greatly!!!

I'm so sorry Paxten's story was cut short, because it was beautiful. But it's just continuing in heaven right now, we'll see the rest when we join him. I don't much like cliffhangers. I wish he were with the rest of his family tonight, but I'm sure he's watching over you all through the fireworks. Hugs and prayers for a wonderful new year.

I just read the letter you posted to Paxton.  I do not know you, but my heart goes out to you in the loss of your son.  May God bless you and your family.  I started following your son's story when my girlfriend's grandson (Walker Gorney) was diagnosed with cancer and passed away about four years ago.

Nothing I can say can ease your loss and heartache, but perhaps knowing that people do care about you . . . will.   Paxton was surely a blessing in your life, and I know you miss him terribly.  Keep his memory alive--like you already are doing.  Again, may God bless you.  You are a loved and wonderful mother.

Beautiful post today. It is so hard to believe it's been 4 years. Four years ago I first read about your son. I cried so many tears when I found out he left here for heaven. I still cry for him, but mostly for you and your loss. You have my continued prayers, tears and  hope for your family.

I first read about Paxten the night before the Mayor's Midnight Marathon in Anchorage, when I was running for Team-in-Training.   This was nearly four years ago -  just after he went to heaven - and I've never forgotten him or your story.

Please know that I'm but one of many strangers who still lift you in prayer, and in some small way, share your grief.

Good to hear from you all.   Each day is difficult in some way, isn't it?   this past Monday would have been Walker's 8th birthday.   Tough for all of us.  Laura asked us to take flowers to the cemetery.    We went to Food City......found ONE bunch that was carnations colored bright blue and purple.    Yes, sounds weird.   However, his favorite color was blue and while he was in treatment, he had a purple wig he loved.   Soooo, that one bunch of flowers was definitely for us that day.   Comforting in a small way.
God bless all of you!

I can't believe it has been almost 4 years since Paxten went to Heaven.  Every time I get notice that you have posted to his site and I come to look, I am still moved to tears.  It seems like yesterday that I was following his journey. I only knew him and you from his CaringBridge site after hearing about it on WLOS one night. But I grew to pray for him and love him dearly.  I lost a little grandson in Dec 2005.  I think of him everyday and my heart is still broken.  I pray for your family still.  God bless you.

Just this week, I saw a car with the name Paxten on the license plate and I thought of your family. I cannot imagine how much you still miss him but I hope it helps that people who never met any of you still keep your sweet son in our hearts.

God bless your family,
