My Story

Welcome to my CaringBridge site. I was diagnosed with cancer of appendiceal origin in Feb 2005 at the age of 34. Since then I have had 4 recurrences. I created this site to help other appendiceal cancer patients, with the hope my experience will help others choose the right treatment path.

Family and Friends will be saying good bye to our Angel on

Menlo Park Chapel
650 Live Oak Avenue, Menlo Park , CA 94025, 650-248-2929

DRESS CODE IS SMART CASUAL AUTUMN ATTIRE.

Parvathy wanted her good bye to be a celebration of her wonderful life and so the service will reflect that wish.

Recorded webcast of the ceremony will be posted on YouTube soon. Link to the site will be provided.

I am sure Parvathy always had a special place in her heart for all of you. Her elegance, beautiful smile, kindness, noble personality with the highest degree of integrity will be very much missed by us all especially me, Murali (Ken).

Here is the link on YouTube of the last known video clip of Parvathy enjoying the plants in the garden.

Parvathy’s Fund

Parvathy's family would prefer that instead of sending flowers and wreaths, you contribute to a new fund (that will expire in 9 months) that will be set-up with initial funds from the family and myself that will

1. Enable more clinically meaningful research work into treatment of appendiceal cancer at 2 research labs already identified by Parvathy which really made a difference to her care (i.e. UPMC and Rational Therapeutics),

2. Increase awareness of this rare cancer in 2009 and beyond by the American Cancer Society (or a similar organization) and,

3. Enable us to set-up a small endowment at Stanford University for an annual prize in Parvathy's name awarded for the best research work conducted by a medical student in Alzheimer's and other neurodegenerative diseases (Parvathy's students always appreciated her dedication to their success and mentorship).

4. Provide more funds to the Caringbridge website
