Doug again...

Lacrosse camp was pretty fun.  It was great seeing the coaches and players!  The camp was for 6 to 12 year olds, with each age group being split out.  Paige was one of the smallest girls and possibly the least coordinated.  And, she'd randomly decide that she wasn't participating anymore and watch the clouds or engage some coach-like-adult in random conversation.

My highlight was in the middle of a scrimmage, she was supposed to be a defender but instead was found in the center of the field, spinning with her stick held straight out.  Rachel guffawed in laughter (rightfully so).

After lacrosse camp, we stopped up to see Grandma Tanya (who is back in the hospital).  The PT guy made her sit in a chair and while Gram said some mean things to him, she had plenty of praise for him after she was able to get up and moved with not a whole lot of pain.  It was good to see her.  She had surgery again on Friday and will hopefully bounce back from this one a little quicker.

And finally, we spent this weekend in Ocean City, MD with my circus of a family (sister + her family, mom, mom's boyfriend, his 2 kids and his daughter's family).  There was 14 of us in total.  The weather didn't entirely cooperate, but there was a minigolf tournament, pirateship water park, indoor pool and time spent on the boardwalk.  Mandie, Paige and I snuck off to go golfing at an indoor mini golf place.  Paige really started getting the knack of it - making it to the hole in an honest 2 and 3 strokes.  The 3 of us shopped the boardwalk for a surprise for a few someone specials (more in a later post).  (UPDATE: Now that the coaches have it, the Hermit Crab was for the Johns Hopkins Women's Lacrosse coaches!)

One of the highlights of the weekend was going to visit the Mancini's on Sunday before we came home.  Paige got a grand tour of the house including Sally and Chris's rooms.  She got to check the crab pots and even picked the first bounty (a green pepper) ever from their garden.  Jeanie, always knowing how to make Paige happy gave Paige a giant brownie and a tall glass of milk!  Chris was quite impressed by Paige's dunking skillz (oh yeah- with a "z"). Jeanie and Paige looked at Jeanie's preschool book and played with sea glass and sea shells for quite a while.

This week Paige and Mandie are headed back to York.
