Owen was diagnosed with stage IV neuroblastoma just two weeks after his second birthday. After five years of countless rounds of chemotherapy, radiation, numerous surgeries, a stem cell transplant, and two clinical trials (3F8 and 8H9), he is currently fighting it for the fifth time. He will continue treatment at Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York for as long as needed.

Time to do another update before we leave again for NY. We have booked the train for Monday and will visit clinic late afternoon to get the necessary contrast and height and weight and all that fun stuff so we can save some time on Tuesday morning. Our return trip is booked for Thursday afternoon so he can be back in school Friday morning.

Owen has been doing fabulous. He is looking great and is full of energy. His counts have been climbing steadily and are looking good. Last Wednesday he went on a field trip with his class to an apple orchard. Daddy went along as a chaperone and they had a great time. They came back with lots of apples and a pumpkin each.

Today, he had his very first dental work done. They found 2 cavities on the side where he had radiation to the jaw so two molars needed to be filled. He was a champ and never even flinched. I was a bit nervous since this was so different from anything he's ever had before that I wasn't quite sure how he was going to react but he did just fine. Phew!

Please think of us next week and keep Owen in your prayers as he goes through yet another round of scans and tests. I will update as soon as there are results of course. We're looking forward to reconnecting with old friends and meeting new. Thanks for checking in!
